Mount Bures Parish Council - About us

The Parish Council is in partnership with Essex County Council under the Parish Paths Partnership Scheme for overseeing the maintenance of all parish footpaths, bridleways and rights of ways.

The Parish Council partly maintains the parish footpath cleansing via a grant from the Borough Council.

The Parish Council has the right of representation on planning matters, which included all planning applications and strategic plan proposals.

Council meetings:

Meetings are normally held on a Thursday, bimonthly in the Village Hall commencing at 7.30pm. The meeting notices are posted on the noticeboards at:-
(a) the corner of Craigs Lane by the Telephone Box
(b) the junction of Colchester Road, and Peartree Road

Meetings are open to the public - anyone is welcome to attend and to raise questions during question time at the beginning of the meeting

Agenda items:

Members of the public are welcome to write to ask that a particular matter be placed on the agenda. Such requests must reach the Clerk two weeks before the meeting.

The Council will either accept the request or explain in writing why it is not appropriate to do so.

The Annual Parish Meeting is normally held in March.
At the Annual Parish Meeting it is your opportunity to raise matters appropriate to the Parish Council in an open forum.
